Haji Ali Dargah Haji Ali Dargah is one of Mumbai’s most iconic religious and architectural landmarks. It is a stunning Islamic shrine and mosque located on a small islet in the Arabian Sea, connected to the mainland by a narrow causeway. Built in 1431, the Dargah houses the tomb of Pir Haji Ali Shah Bukhari, a wealthy merchant-turned-saint from Persia. It is a place of spiritual importance for people of all religions, known for its miraculous blessings and Sufi music. Gateway of India The Gateway of India is one of Mumbai’s most famous landmarks, symbolizing the city’s colonial history and grandeur. It is located in South Mumbai near the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, overlooking the Arabian Sea. Built in 1924, the Gateway of India was constructed to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to India in 1911. It was the ceremonial entrance for British governors and officials. In 1948, the last British troops departed India from here, marking the end of British rule. Dhobi Ghat -The World’s Largest Open-Air Laundry Dhobi Ghat in Mumbai is a 120-year-old open-air laundry where hundreds of washermen (dhobis) wash thousands of clothes daily. Prince of Wales Museum or Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya (CSMVS) – Formerly Prince of Wales Museum is one of India’s premier art and history museums. It houses an extensive collection of ancient artifacts, sculptures, paintings, and decorative arts from across India and beyond. Built in 1905 in Indo-Saracenic style, it was originally named the Prince of Wales Museum to honor the visit of Prince George (later King George V). Renamed in 1998 after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the Maratha warrior king. The museum building itself is a Grade I heritage structure, featuring domes, arches, and intricate stonework. Crafford Market Crawford Market, officially known as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandai, is one of Mumbai’s oldest and most vibrant markets, famous for fresh produce, exotic fruits, pets, and imported goods. Built in 1869 during British rule, it was named after Arthur Crawford, Mumbai’s first Municipal Commissioner. The building features Gothic and Norman architecture, designed by William Emerson, with beautiful red stone and intricate carvings. Later visit Mohammad Ali Road & Mosque for Prayer VT Station Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), originally called Victoria Terminus (VT), is one of Mumbai’s most iconic railway stations and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is a masterpiece of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture and serves as a major hub for Mumbai’s suburban and long-distance trains. Mani Bhawan Mani Bhavan is a historic building in Mumbai that served as Mahatma Gandhi’s residence and headquarters from 1917 to 1934. It is now a museum and research centre dedicated to his life and work. Marine Drive Marine Drive is one of Mumbai’s most iconic waterfront promenades, stretching 3.6 km along the Arabian Sea. It is famous for its breathtaking sunsets, sea breeze, and vibrant city lights at night, earning it the nickname “Queen’s Necklace” due to the way its streetlights resemble a string of pearls.
